Datzetal Coat of Arms

Shield Or parted by a bendlet sinister wavy, in sinister chief an heraldic rose Gules, in dexter base a millwheel Gules with 12 paddles.
Meaning:
The bendlet wavy is representing the Datze, a little river and name giver of the municipality. The millwheel is representing the watermills of Roga and Pleetz in the Datze valley. The rose is taken from the arms of the Bertikow kin, which had inherited the position of a chief functionary (German: Erbmarschall) in the Lordship of Stargard. The family owned the village between 1385 and 1469.

Salow Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a bend Argent, charged with three heraldic roses Gules, in sinister chief and dexter base a millwheel Argent with 12 paddles.
Meaning:
Salow and Sadelkow merged on 1 January 2003 and formed a new municipality named Datzetal. The millwheels are representing the watermills of Roga and Pleetz in the Datze valley. Friedland Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a throughout double arch Gules with a fleur de lis reversed on the intersection point, topped by three towers Gules masoned Sable, the central one having five embattlements and the others four embattlements, in base tow warriors issuant, dressed Azure, with belt Or, sword Argent hilted Or in bend and lance Argent hafted Or in bend sinister, the sinister lance with a lance pennant parted per fess of Gules and Argent, between the warriors an impending inescutcheon Argent, charged with an eagle Gules.
Meaning:
Friedland was designed, founded and built by the Margraves Johann I and Otto III of Brandenburg on the border with Pommern. Around 1300 it became a possession of theLords of Mecklenburg together with the Lordship of Stargard. The arms were designed according to a city seal with a print from 1343. Arches and towers are symbolising a fortified city. The inescutcheon displays the arms of Brandenburg. The warriors are representing the founders of the city.

The flag was approved on 15 July 1997 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The arms are traditional and were redesigned in 1997. Both were published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.129.
