Kirchdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a horse passant Argent, mantled Argent, at dexter charges with a throughout cross Azure, at sinister bendy indented point in point of Sable.
Meaning:
The horse is the heraldic animal of theGurren of Kirchdorf kin, who called themselves Gurren of Haag later. Their existence in the village is proven since 1150. They and their legal successors used seals displaying a mare. The cross is a punning element and alluding to the local parish church, the family grave of the Counts of Haag. The tinctures are those of the Wittelsbach kin. It acquired the county in 1566. The county kept however special privileges (kurbayerische Kabinettsherrschaft) until the 18th century. The sinister part of the mantle displays the arms of the Schwarzenecker kin, being treasurers of the county. The arms are knoen from the grave of Hans Schwarzenecker, who served as a priest in Kirchdorf.
