Meaning:
The eagle is a differentiation of the arms of Brandenburg. The 11 blossoms are representing the (former) municipalities, establishing the subcounty on 19 June 1992. Those municipalities had been: Friesack (city), Brädikow, Haage, Paulinenaue, Pessin, Senzke, Vietznitz, Wagenitz, Warsow, Wutzetz and Zootzen.

Friesack Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base Vert, a castle Azure with port Or and windows Sable, having two embattled towers with domes Gules, between the towers an impending eagle Gules armed Or with cloverstems Or.
Meaning:
The arms are derived from the oldest known city seal from 1619. The seal already displayed the castle with the eagle of Brandenburg. Friesack gained city rights in 1327, but older seals are not known. Nearly all later seals displayed more or less the same pattern. The 1825 version however showed a phoenix rising from his ashes. Its meaning is not known.

Retzow Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, on a base Gules in bend twice plugged Azure, a lynx passant guardant Gules spotted Sable.
Meaning:
The lynx is canting, as in the former Polabian language the meaning of the municipality's name had been "place of lynxes" (=Rysow). The bend with two plugs is symbolising the landscape, having a continuous declining slope with two ponds. The colours red and white are those of Brandenburg. The draft was made by Jörg Mantzsch.
