Grevesmühlen Coat-of-Arms

[Grevesmühlen arms] Image by Jörg Majewski, 27 Feb 2007

On a red shield is a golden (=yellow) mill wheel. The centre of the gear is superimposed by a black bull's head, crowned golden, armed silver and tongued red.
Meaning:
Probably the bull's head is symbolising Mecklenburg and the Obotrite princes, the millwheel might be canting.
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 8 Nov 2011

According to Stefan Schwoon this flag was introduced shortly after German reunion in 1990 by the city council, stressing the old relationships to the former state of Mecklenburg. As there had been no entry in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, this variant had to be considered as "inofficial" (deadline: 7 April 2004). The arms were granted in Oct 1897 and revised 1996.
