Ottweiler City Coat of Arms

French shield Azure, a heraldic rose Argent (barbed and seeded of the same), crested by a brick red mural crown with three towers.
Meaning:
The settlement beneath a castle from 1393 was called a city since 1444, but gained the city rights in fact not before 1550. It is probably a symbol of a court, like e.g. in Koblenz (1282) and the common seal of Saarbücken and St. Johann (1462). In 1544 Ottweiler became a county and since 1574 seat of the branch line Nassau-Ottweiler. After 1816 seals displayed just the eagle of Prussia.

The current arms with mural crown were granted around 1900 by Emperor Wilhelm II as King of Prussia.
