Georgenberg Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter parted per fess of Gules and Azure by an embattled wall Argent masoned Sable, in base three 6-point stars Or ordered 2:1; at sinister Argent a dragon Gules ,having a sword Or in bend in his throat, over a triplemount issuant Vert.
Meaning:
The sinister half is canting, displaying dragon and sword as attributes of St. George, the local patron saint, and a mount (German: Berg). The white embattled wall is taken from the family arms of the Wirsberg kin. Georg Christoph of Wirsberg founded the municipality around 1600. The family acquired the Lordship of Waldthurn, to which Georgenberg belonged, in 1540. The local line of the family died out in 1647. Emperor Ferdinand II sold the lordship, which had been a Bohemian fiefdom, in 1656 to the Princes of Lobkowitz, who ruled the area from 1666 until 1807. The stars are taken from their family arms.
