Buchloe Coat of Arms

Triangular shield parted per fess of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The oldest city seal is known by prints from 1500. It already displays the simple shield of the Bishopric of Augsburg, i.e. parted per pale. The pattern was kept and displayed in a semi-official painting from 1812 and was confirmed in 1836. Its origin then had been unknown. The damascene on the dexter half had been erroneously interpreted as a charge and had been considered to be a beech branch. Since 1834 the arms were parted of Or and Argent (!). The old pattern was restored in 1950. Buchloe gained city rights in 1954 .
