Lamerdingen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a demi-eagle Argent couped per pale, at sinister Argent issuant from line of partition six piles, the upper triplet Sable and the lower triplet Gules, over all in centre an inescutcheon parted per fess of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The dexter half is taken from the arms of the St. Peter Monastery in Augsburg, which was founded in 1063 by Count Schwiger of Balzhausen and Schwabegg. And it is representing Lamerdingen proper. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Bishopric of Augsburg, to which the former municipality of Dillhausen historically belonged since the 14th century. The black piles are taken from the arms of the former municipality of Kleinkitzighofen, the red piles from those of Großkitzighofen. They had also been in the family arms of the Barons of Rohrbach, who ruled both villages in the 13th and 14th century.
