Stöttwang Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess of Gules and Azure, a sword Argent and a pen Argent in saltire, flanked by a 6-point star Or in chief and a crozier issuant Or in base.
Meaning:
At the end of the 8th century a monastery was founded, which was acquired by the Princely Abbey of Kempten in 831. The monastery had been the seat of a provost of the abbey since then. The abbey enfeoffed the monastery in 1386. The tinctures red and blue are those of the Kempten Abbey. Sword and pen are the attributes of St. Gordian and St. Epimachos, the local patron saints. The star is taken from the arms of the city of Kaufbeuren, one of the former rulers. The crozier is taken from the personal arms of the priest Johann Martin Klein, who in 1751 caused the new construction of the local parish church.
