Goldberg Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a mount issuant Vert with two trefoils of the same, topped by a wall Gules with four embattlements and two towers of the same with three embattlements each, in chief an impending bull's head caboshed Sable crowned Or .
Meaning:
Goldberg was first mentioned in 1227 as a dominion of the Benedictine Dobbertin Nunnery. It gained city rights in 1248, became a possession of the Lords of Werle in 1256 and of the Dukes of Mecklenburg in 1436. The arms are based on a city seal with prints since 1309. The mount in a golden field is a canting element. The bull' head is that one of the Parchim-Rickenberg branch of the Princes of Mecklenburg, the first known local rulers. Wall and towers are stressing the rank of a city.

The croziers are symbolising the monasteries of Neukloster and Dobbertin. Both owned estates in the area. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Below kin, who founded Techentin proper.
