Buchberg Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a stag passant Or, in base five blossoms Argent seeded Vert in circle (1:2:2).
Meaning:
The arms are based on the abolished arms of Retzow. The stag is symbolising forestry. The blossoms are symbolising agriculture, especially the cultivation of potatoes. Their number is symbolising the five settlements Gnevsdorf, Hof Retzow, Klein Dammerow, Retzow and Wangelin.

Flag and arms were approved on 5 July 2006 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.304. The symbols were abolished on 25 May 2014.

Retzow Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a stag passant Or, surrounded by three blossoms Argent seeded Vert, on dexter and sinister chief point and on middle base point.
Meaning:
The stag is symbolising forestry. The blossoms are symbolising agriculture, especially the cultivation of potatoes. Their number is symbolising the three settlements Hof Retzow, Klein Dammerow and Retzow proper.

It was a blue over yellow over red horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms was in the centre of the flag.

Plau Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a gate Gules masoned Sable with basement of the same with five embattlements and bays on either side, in port Or a bull's head caboshed sable crowned Or.
Meaning:
Plau gained city rights in 1225, which were confirmed in 1235. Since 1229 Plau belonged to the Lordship of Parchim-Richenberg, from 1256 until 1436 to the Lordship of Werle, afterwards to the Duchy of Mecklenburg. The arms are based on a city seals. Prints are known since 1354. The gate is symbolising Plau as a fortified city. The bull's head is taken from the arms of the Lordship Parchim-Richenberg.

The current flag was approved by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on 28 May 1996. The arms were granted on 10 April 1858 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Both were published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.56. The 1st flag was used inofficially and was not approved, it was abolished in 1994. The city was renamed to Plau am See also in 1994.

Karow Coat of Arms

Shield Or with chief Azure, a church Gules with stepped gable, windows Gules and port Or, charged with a Latin cross Gules.
Meaning:
The blue chief is symbolizing the location on the northern bend of the Plau Lake. The building is an image of the church of Karow that had been built in 1872.

The flag was approved on 27 January 2004 and the arms were approved on 28 March 2003 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Both werepublished in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.277. The symbols were abolished on 1 January 2011.
