Breese Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, at dexter a sewing needle Gules in pale with double embowed thread of the same, at sinister an unicorn forcene Gules.
Meaning:
The unicorn is taken from the family arms of the Retzdorf kin, being landlords of the villages of Groß Breese, Klein Breese and Mittelbreese from the 14th until the 18th century. The needle is representing the Singer factory for the famous sewing machines, which had been established in nearby Wttenberge in 1903. It became the most important employer for the people of the Breeses and changed the appearance of the villages completely by building new settlements for the workers in 1925.
