Introduction to Geest und Marsch Südholstein Subcounty

The Geest und Marsch Südholstein Subcounty is the successor of Moorrege Subcounty. When Haseldorf subcounty was dissolved on 1 January 2017, its municipalities were incorporated into Moorrege, which then got ist current name.
Moorrege subcounty consisted of seven municipalities incl. Appen, which joined the subcounty on 1 July 2006. Moorrege municipality was located around the city of Uetersen on the other bank of Pinnau river. In 2007 the municipality of Appen became part of Moorrege subcounty. The subcounty had no proper flag nor coat of arms. In front of the administration building however the flag of the municipality was flown (spotted 23 August 2007). Probably subcounty and municipality shared the same symbols.
The Haseldorf Marsh was located on the northern bank of Elbe river, right west of the city of Wedel. The subcounty of Haseldorf had three municipalities.
