Selent-Schlesen Coat of Arms

In a blue field is a silver (= white), sinister bendy fish. The shield has a golden (= yellow) bordure superimposed by seven green beech leaves.
Meaning:
The subcounty is more or less the former Selent Parish. (Kirchspiel). It consists of seven municipalities, represented by the leaves. Those are: Dobersdorf, Fargau-Pratjau, Lammershagen, Martensrade, Schlesen and the no flag entities of Mucheln and Selent. The fish is taken from the arms of the knights of Schlesen (de Slesce) from the 14th century. Fish and blue colour are symbolising riches of water and fish. The yellow colour is symbolising rapeseed on the fields in bloom.

Dobersdorf Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided by a silver (= white) bend wavy into blue over red. Above left is a silver (= white) oak leaf. Below left is a silver (= white) wolf forcene.
Meaning:
The leaf is symbolising riches of forests. The wolf is taken from the arms of the Pogwisch family, living in the area since the 15th century.

Fargau-Pratjau Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess wavy into blue over silver (= white). Above is a silver (= white) manor with two towers over an end-to-end barrulet wavy of the same colour. Below is a green leaf of ash tree with eleven feathers.
Meaning:
Both settlement cores belonged to Salzau Manor, which was first mentioned in 1264, together with nine other hamlets. In 1974 Fragau and Pratjau merged. The big house is Salzau Manor. The leaf with eleven feathers is representing the settlement cores: Fargau, Pratjau, Salzau, Sophienhof, Neu Sophienhof, Legbank, Ernsthausen, Louisenthal, Hütten, Friedrichsfeld and Münstertal.

Lammershagen Municipality

It is a 5-stripes flag from top to bottom: white-blue-white-red-white. The ratio of stripess is estimated 1:2:10:2:1. In the centre of the big white stripe is the coat of arms.

Lammershagen Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess embattled into blue over silver (= white). Above is a whitefish. The field below is nearly completely superimposed by a red stake dam.

Meaning:
The stake dam is a canting element, meaning a Hagen. The blue colour is symbolising Selenter See, alocal lake. The whitefish is symbolising fishery and is thus representing the settlement core of Bellin.

It is a blue - white - red vertical tricolour with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the white stripe.

Martensrade Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided by a silver (= white) bend - embattled below and wavy above into blue over red. Below right the field is filled by a red embattled, masoned wall superimposed by a silver (= white), rooted stomp.
Meaning:
The area of the current municipality is nearly congruent with the dissolved manor district of Wittenberg. The embattled wall is taken from the arms of the Reventlow family, owners of the district since 1568. The stomp is a canting element, representing the suffix "-rade", which denotes a village created by forest clearance. The wavy line is symbolising riches of water, especially Selenter See, a local lake.

Mucheln Municipal Coat of Arms

Shield parted enhanced per bend embattled, above left Or a water lily leaf Azure, beneath Vert a watermill's wheel Argent issuant from line of partition.
Meaning:
The embattlements are taken from the personal arms of the Knight Otto Mueghele. The green colour is representing the green landscape. The wheel is alluding to a former watermill, the leaf to the mill's pond.

In the silver (=white) shield is a red building with a small turret. The blue base is divided by two silver (= white) bars wavy.
Meaning:
The building is the Neo-Gothic school house, which was built in 1890. The house is also alluding to the long rule of Salzau Manor. The municipality became independent in 1927. The blue colour and the bars are symbolising riches of water. The colours are those of Schleswig-Holstein.

Selent Municipal Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess wavy, above Argent a sinister pointing key Gules in fess with key bit pointing downwards, beneath Azure issuant from base a neo Gothic embattled wall Argent with an embattled tower of the same in centre.
Meaning:
The key is an attribute of Servatius of Tongeren, who died in 384 in Maastricht, being the local patron saint since 1197. The building is the so called "Blome's castle", built in 1842 by Imperial Count (German: Reichsgraf) Otto of Blome in 1842. The line of partition is symbolising the Selent Lake.
