The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a yellow-green-yellow vertical triband with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms without shield is in the middle of the central stripe.

Blankenhagen Coat of Arms

In a green field are two golden (= yellow) hatches crossed per saltire. Below are six blossoms of rape of the same colour ordered 3:2:1.
Meaning:
The mattocks are canting (Hagen ~= Hacken). The blossoms are symbolising agriculture, the main line of business. Their number is alluding to the size of land, which was gained by forest clearance in the middle ages. (6 Hufen ~= 450,000 sqm = 45 ha)

Mönchhagen Coat of Arms

In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) statant monk, flanked by two upright branches of yew having three berries each.
Meaning:
According to source the colours are symbolising the affiliation of the village to the Lordship of Rostock in the middle ages. The monk is canting and reminding on the monks, who settled down here in the 13th century. The branches are symbolising an 800-years old yew tree in the municipality.

Rövershagen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Azure a griffin passant Or tongued Gules, beneath Or a yew branch Vert fruited Gules and flanked by two mattocks Vert, at dexter in bend, at sinister in bend sinister.
Meaning:
Röverhagen had a common history with the

  • Hanseatic City of Rostock and the Lords of Rostock for centuries. This is symbolised by the griffin from the Rostock city arms. The mattocks are alluding to the local farms, the yew is alluding to a group of yew trees near the village.

    The arms were approved on 6 January 1998 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.257. The flag was never approved officially.
