Shield parted per fess; above a crozier Gules in bend sinister, superimposed by a bend chequered of Argent and Gules; beneath Vert a plough share Argent flanked by two potatoe blossoms Argent seeded Sable.
Meaning:
Crozier and the so called Cistercian bend are alluding to local abbeys, which had specific privileges. Hollstadt belonged to endowment of the Cistercian Bildhausen Abbey, endowed in 1156. Also the Cistercian Wechterswinkel Nunnery owned local estates since 1285, furthermore the Cistercian Frauenroth Nunnery since 1359. Other manorial lords had been the St. Stephen Abbey in Würzburg and the University of Würzburg, symbolised by the tinctures silver and red. Furthermore the village historically belonged to the Bishopric of Würzburg until 1803. Green colour, plough share and blossoms are symbolising agriculture as main business line, especially the cultivation of seed potatoes. Please not that according to blazon the blossoms are seeded Or but in fact they are seeded Sable.
