Heideck Coat of Arms

French shield parted per pale; at dexter Or a wing Sable; at sinister parted per fess of Gules, Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Heideck was established as Nova Civitas (German for new city) in 1288 and received its current name after 1300, based on the namesake castle, which had been built in 1250 by the Lords of Heideck, whose lordship had been for a short time during the 14th century under direct imperial rule, before it became a fiefdom of the Kings of Böhmen in 1360. The oldest seal from around 1320 with existing prints since 1340 already displayed the current pattern. The sinister half displays the arms of the Heideck kin and the dexter half was assumed to be part of the crest of a branch line of the kin according to Otto Hupp. Please note, that on the flag the wing is displayed on a silver (= white) background (see left image above). Another flag displays the arms with usual the background in a Baroque cartouche (see right image above), with a mural crown on top and a triplet of triangles on either side. The triangles according to Jörg Majewski should be simplified bells. The flag colours are a repetition of the family arms of the kin.

The arms are in use since the 14th century. The banner probably has never been approved officially.
