Hardt Municipal Coat of Arms

The silver (= white) shield has a green base. Two green fir trees are standing on the base. Between both is an impending blue inescutcheon, displaying a golden (= yellow) stag, standing on a triple mount of the same colour.
Meaning:
Hardt was separated from Mariazell in 1839 and became an independent municipality. In the 1930ies the village mayor used a seal, displaying two fir trees. The seal was surrounded by two branches of palm tree. The (current) coat of arms was adopted in 1953. The colours were fixed and the inescutcheon was added in order to distinguish from other coats of arms, displaying two fir trees. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Lords of Falkenstein, erroneously of the younger branch. The lords in the 14th and 15th century were rulers of the Lordship of Schramberg, to which Hardt belonged until 1806.
