Schenkenzell Municipal Coat of Arms

In a celestial blue shield is a silver (= white) bull's head caboshed, having a golden (= yellow) annulet in its nose. The head is flanked by two golden (= yellow) 6-point stars.
Meaning:
Schenkenzell was a sub-lordship of Hohengeroldseck, together with Kaltbrunn, which had been incorporated in 1974, and the Kuhbach farm. The lordship was sold to Fürstenberg in 1498/1500. The name of the municipality alludes to the title of a cupbearer (German: Schenk) of the local noblemen. In 1806 the lordship became a part of Baden. The origin of the bull's head is unknown, but the pattern is used on court seals since the end of the 18th century. In 1905 an improved version with fixed tinctures was introduced by General State Archive. The current arms are in use since 1958.
