Shield Vert, parted by a bar wavy Argent, in chief three apple blossoms proper in fess, in base three apple blossoms proper ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
The arms show the Lühe River and six apple blossoms, one for each of the municipalities. Those are: Grünendeich, Guderhandviertel, Hollern-Twielenfleth, Mittelnkirchen, Neuenkirchen and Steinkirchen, which is the seat of the comprehensive municipality. The apple blossoms are referring to the location in "Altes Land" district, one of Germany's biggest orchards.

Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Argent a lighthouse issuant barry of five of Gules and Argent with fire Or fimbriated Gules; beneath Vert two heraldic roses Argent in fess, barbed Gules and seeded Argent.
Meaning:
The lighthouse is one of the fires of Somfletherwisch. The green base is a canting element, representing a green dyke (German: grüner Deich). The blossoms, although denoted as roses, probably are in fact apple blossoms, referring to the location of Grünendeich in "Altes Land" district. Or they are taken from the arms of Lühe Comprehensive Municipality.

Shield parted per pale with base Vert, charged with a bar wavy Argent; at dexter Argent, a defence tower Gules roofed Or, at sinister Gules a lighthouse Argent.
Meaning:
The defence tower is representing Hollern and the lighthouse Twielenfleth. The bar wavy is symbolising Elbe River and the green colour the local marshes.

Shield Argent with base Vert charged with a bar wavy Argent, three houses Gules, behind the houses in centre a church tower Gules.
Meaning:
Green base and bar wavy are representing the local marshes and Lühe River. The tower is that one of the local parish church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew. According to source the three houses are representing Mittelnkirchen and neighbouring communes Steinkirchen and Neuenkirchen
