Grünsfeld City Banner

Description of banner:
It is a white - (celestial) blue - white vertical triband. The coat of arms is in the centre of the banner. (there also exists a hanging flag having the same pattern).
Source: I spotted this banner on 21 May 2013 in the local town hall.

Grünsfeld Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In the centre of the golden (= yellow) shield is a silver (= white) fleur de lis. Two inescutcheons lean against the fleur de lis. A golden (= yellow) triangular shield divided by five red bars on the dexter side; and a silver (= white) shield divided by a celestial blue pale on the sinister side.
Meaning:
Grünsfeld gained city rights around 1320 from King Ludwig the Bavarian, lost them in 1921 and regained them in 1950. Prints from 1386 of the oldest known seal of the city already display the current pattern of the arms. The dexter inescutcheon displays the arms of the Counts of Rieneck, who ruled the area in the 13th century. The sinister inescutcheon displays the arms of the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg, who became local rulers in 1486. The fleur de lis is a symbol of the city. The colours of the banner are taken from the Leuchtenberg arms.
Stadler reports a plain flag, probably also a banner, in 1971.
