Kirchhaslach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, parted abased by a fess wavy parted per pale of Sable and Argent, at dexter Argent a watermill wheel Gules topped by a hayfork of the same; at sinister Vert a fleur-delis Argent with a top shaped like a hazelnut.
Meaning:
The name means church at the Haselbach (= hazelnut creek). The parish church is also a church of pilgrimage, deicated to St. Mary, represented by her attribute, the fleur-de-lis, and the hazelnut is representing the name giving creek. Due to a legend Albrecht of Rechberg found a miraculuous image of St. Mary and brought it to Babenhausen. But the image returned thrice to the place, where it had been found. Thus finally a wooden chapel was established in 1391, which was replaced by a church with three naves. Pilgrimage flourished in the 15th century and after 1648, was prohibited in 1808 and restored in 1851, when it had lost its former importance. The fleur-de-lis is also the heraldic symbol of the Fugger family, which had been the local sovereign between 1538 and 1806. The millwheel is representing the mill on the bank of the Haselbach, which was built in 1712. Hayfork and green colour are symbolising the rural character.
