Shield Or a lion rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules on a base Sable.
Meaning:
Since the 31 December 2012 the name of the city had been simply Pausa. On 1 January 2013 the neighbouring Mühltroff City had been incorporated. The village of Pausa developed under the rule of the Reeves of Plauen to a walled city, confirmed in 1393. The existence of mayor, council and low level cognisane is proven since the 16th century. In 1460 the little lordship was acquired by the Electorate of Sachsen. The main business line had been textiles industry. First the arms displayed the golden lion of the reeves on a black field. After the lordship had been pawned to the Wettin kin, the lion was replaced by the black one of the Margraves of Meißen. The black base is not mentioned within the blason.

Shield Azure a fish haurient Argent finned Gules.
Meaning:
Mühltroff was first mentioned in 1274 as a village and in 1367 as a city. Originally being a possession of the Lords of Lobeda-Mühltroff it was acquired by the Reeves of Gera and Plauen in the 13th century, in 1357 by the Margraves of Meißen, in 1547 again by the Reeves of Plauen and in 1569 by the Electorate of Sachsen. The arms are based on a city seal with the year 1521 on its circumscription. The seal was probably made around 100 years later. The pattern remained basically the same. The fish is a common rudd (Latin:Scardinius erythrophthalmus, German: Rotfeder)and referring to the riches of fish on the city´s pond. During a flood in the 16th century a rodd ended on the table of the city council and had become the mark of idenfication of the city since then.

The banner is probably used without approval. The arms were confirmed by the local council on 22 January 1901.
