    Marlow Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a bull' head sable caboshed armed Argent, issuant from head a sinister facing demi-griffin Or tongued Gules.
    Meaning:
In 1298 a German settlement developed, which belonged to the Lordship of Rostock. In 1314 it became a possession of the Lords of Mecklenburg. It was pawned to the Bishopric of Schwerin from 1371 until 1375/76 and to the Lühe kin from 1450 until 1768. In 1459 city rights according to the Lübeck pattern were confirmed. The arms are based on a city seal. Prints are known since 1517. The current pattern was fixed in 1858. The arms combine both versions of the arms of the Lords of Rostock, the black bull with mouth shut on the first arms and a differentiation of the yellow griffin from their later arms.

The arms were granted on 10 April 1858 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The flag was approved on 15 August 2000 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Both were published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.251
