Meaning:
The grain ear is symbolising agriculture and the cogwheel industries. Each torteau, i.e. a red disc, is representing one of the municipalities of SG Baddeckenstedt.

Elbe Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, in base a label Argent with three points, in chief a blossom Argent of a spring snowflake (Latin: Leucojum vernum) with tips Or on each petal.
The flower is an endangered species, growing in the woods, surrounding the municipality. Flag colours and ratio are those of the state flag of Lower Saxony.

Meaning:
The stag is symbolising the suffix "lah", meaning "wood". The colours red and yellow had been those of the Bishopric of Hildesheim, which had great influence for centuries.

Sehlde Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, a stag statant guardant Argent, having an impending Latin cross between his antlers.
Meaning:
The stag is an attribute of St. Hubertus of Liège, in one of the numerous versions of his legend the stag with cross appeared to a poacher, who had been proselitised after having seen that stag. This version claims that the incident occured near Sehlde.
