It is a yellow-black-yellow vertical triband with ratio of stripes 1:2:1. The coat of arms is shifted to the top in the black stripe.

Unterbreizbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per saltire; in chief Or a Lutheran rose Gules, seeded by a heart Or charged with a Latin cross sable, barbed Vert; at dexter Gules a sinister facing horsehead Argent; at sinister Gules a milk churn Argent with barrel hoops Or; in base Or hammer and mallet Sable.
Meaning:
The milk churn (German: Butte) is taken from the family arms of the Lords of Buttlar and furthermore representing Unterbreizbach proper. The other symbols are taken from the arms of former municipalities. The horsehead is representing Pferdsdorf, the Lutheran rose is representing Sünna. Hammer and mallet, the symbols of mining, are referring to the depletion of prickly saltwort (Latin: Salsola kali) in the area.

Unterbreizbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a milk churn Argent with barrel hoops and shoulder straps Or, at sinister Or three hunting horns Sable ordered triangular, forming a forked cross or felon's cross.
Meaning:
The milk churn (German: Butte) is taken from the family arms of the Lords of Buttlar, former local rulers and the forked cross from the arms of the Lords of Rückershausen.
