Antdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter Azure, in base a key Argent and a sword Argent in saltire, in chief a sickle Argent; at sinister paly of four of Or and Gules with a sinister canton Argent charged with a fleur-de-lis Azure.
Meaning:
The sickle is symbolising the importance of agriculture and had been also the symbol oft he Isidor Fraternity. Key and sword are the attributes of the patron saints of the local parish church, St. Peter and St. Paul. The paly quarter at dexter displays the apocryphal arms of he Counts of Antdorf, a branch of the Huosi family. They had been local rulers between 740 and 1280. Furthermore they founded the Benediktbeuern Monastery. Antdorf was part of its endowment. The fleur de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, patron saint of the Ettal Monastery, to which Antdorf was donated in 1330. The monastery had the local cognisance from the 14th century until 1803. The fleur-de-lis is also referring to the pilgrimage church of Frauenrain.
