FIDO Spedition & Logistik GmbH

The company is located in Leer (Eastern Frisia). I am not sure, but I guess it had to do something with Fisser & van Doornum (FI-DO) Neither am I sure, that the first flag is of FIDO (I just believed the seller) nor am I sure it ist he older one, which I believe due tot he design. I am also not sure whether FIDO really has to do something with Fisser & van Doornum.

It is a very light blue flag(B--) with a white lozenge in its centre. In the centre of the lozenge is a diamond fimbriated red with rounded points and containing a red ring formed by three arrows(looks like a recycling logo).

H. G. Fisser

[Reunert & Co] image by Klaus-Michael Schneider, 9 July 2019

The company was based in Bremen. The flag was white with a red stripe on top- and bottom-edge and a bar, chequered of white and red at the hoist. In centre was a blue serifed initial "F", maybe an offspring of Fisser & van Doornum. The chequered bar is referring to Bremen.

Transatlanta Schiffahrts-Ges.mbH

The white diamond should be bigger according to the quoted source, nearly touching the flag edges and is also shown by the 1957 and 1958 same format issues whereas Brown 1958 and US Navy 1961 do have the diamond extending to the flag edges. The company vessels were operated by Fisser & van Doornum and the livery certainly seems to be based on that of the latter. They did have a second ship "St. Michel" shown by Lloyds and they may have well been a subsidiary of Fisser. The source however connects them as "K.R." or "Korrespondent-Reeder", not as the latter being the ship owner. They look to have existed from 1953 when "Transatlanta" was built but gone by at least 1963 from Lloyds.
