Flag of Haute-Garonne

The Departemental Council has been using since 2019 a blue flag with the Council's logo and beneath the words "Conseil départemental de la Haute-Garonne" (photo, photo.

The flag was introduced in 2018 with the words above the logo (photo, photo, photo).
The former General Council has been using since the 1990s several versions of the logo, always with the same basic elements, the handwritten-style letters "HG" and a rainbow.

The new logotype was modernized to highlight the changes operated in 2015: a new presidency [Georges Méric succeeded Pierre Izard, President since 1988], a new territorial project, and a new name - Conseil départemental instead of Conseil général. Rather than a revolution, the new logo is a natural evolution of the former visual identity.
The new logotype highlights two main axes of the Department's public policy:
- the tail emphasizes the concept of territory; the Department's policy is deployed on the whole territory;
- the speech balloon emphasizes the politic willingness to establish a true, open dialogue with the citizens.

The essentials of the logotype have been kept. The colors and the typographic signature "HG", for "Haute-Garonne", remain the major elements that still offer to the logotype its strength and personality.
The cartouche is shaped like a speech balloon, representing exchange, dialogue, proximity and listening, share.

The blue color was maintained as the historic color, but in a more modern shade. Impact and legibility have been increased.
The rainbow colors have been re-used, evoking both the array of skills and diversity and plurality, the person and the group.
The writing features the Department's name in reading's first level. ".FR" was integrated to represent modernity, service and proximity. The typography was modernized, too.

The colors are specified as follows:

	  Pantone    CMYK           RGB         HEX
Blue        640   95 2O 25 0      0 120 155    00789b

Red         1787   0 80  58 0   220  60  70    DC3C46

The light blue shade used for ".FR" is 30% of blue.
