The municipality of Viškovo (14,445 inhabitants in 2011, 3,054 in the town of Viškovo) is located due north of Rijeka.

The symbols of Viškovo are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi (Općine Viškovo), adopted on 22 October 1998 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the County official gazette Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 22.
Amendment Odluka o izmjeni i odpuni Odluke o grbu i zastavi (Općine Viškovo), adopted on 29 July 1999 and published on 6 August 1999 in Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 18, changed the symbols, probably after a suggestion from the Ministry of Administration, removing the open white book from the chief of the arms.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, red with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a cattle bell or with a rope argent and in chief a feather fesswise of the last". The large-sized bell is of a kind used traditionally in the region for carnival festivities, held in Febuary.

The ceremonial flag, not mentioned in the Decisions, is a red gonfalon with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality above and grapevine ornaments with bunches of grapes in the three tails.
