The town emblem was adopted on Mar 30th 1968 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a yellow town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana ア A of Assabu. The yellow color stands for the wetland rice. It represents the further growing town cultivated by the ancestors who weathered the hardships to tame the wilderness.

The town emblem was adopted in 1955 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a red and a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana エ E and four (Shi) サ Sa. The diamond shape symbolizes an unlimited development and the inner circle does a peace and a solidarity.

The town emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1967 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a white town emblem in the center. The outer circle is a snake-shaped river which symbolizes the town’s future progress and the town people’s reconciliation and collaboration. The center stylized katakana ノ No represents the progress of the grain belt and the promotion of the dairy industry and the upper chevron does an ideal world.

The town emblem was adopted in 1927 and the flag was adopted on Jun 6th 1968. The white flag has a red town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 上国 Kamikuni in a circle. It represents peace. The red color stands for the brightness of the sun, the town people’s vigor and the white color for the town’s peace and the eternal development.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The diameter of the emblem is 5/9 height of the flag.

The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1966 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana おくしり Okushiri written unicursally. It represents the town people’s solidarity and a peaceful ideal world which continues to make a leap forward.

Otobe Town / 乙部町

The town emblem was adopted on Aug 18th 1965 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 乙 Oto and hiragana べ Be in a land form of the town. The center umbonal part symbolizes Mt. Otobe and the dots do the sea waves. The entire form is the old-time moneybag which represents a wish for the town being rich.

The town emblem was adopted on Nov 15th 2005 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green and an orange two color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana セ Se of Setana in a land form of Hokkaido in green color. The orange circle symbolizes the location of the town. The orange color stands for the people’s human contact and the green color for the rich and beautiful nature.
