Amstenrade

The village flag of the Limburg village of Amstenrade (or Austroa) is also known as the Austroase Vasteloaves Flag.

It basically consists of a horizontal tricolor consisting of a red, yellow and green stripes. These colors may refer to the well-known carnival colors. The green track extends up into a silhouette of several connected buildings. For example, Amstenrade Castle, the most important village monument, can be seen on the left. To the right of this is the parish church with the name Our Lady Immaculate Conception. This is a neo-Gothic church with two towers.

Hulsberg former municipality

[Hulsberg flag] image by Valentin Poposki, 9 December 2023
adopted 21 March 1968

Hulsberg is a former municipality in Limburg province, since 1982 part of the new municipality of Nuth, central south Limburg.
Flag: five stripes white - red - yellow - red - white, proportioned 4:2:1:2:4, and a yellow hoist-triangle charged with a standing green holly-leaf of 3/5 flagheight; at the base of the leaf three red berries, against the stem.
adopted 21 Mar 1968 by municipal resolution.

Shield: per pale; I argent a double-tailed lion gules, crowned and armed or; II or a mountain issueing from base vert sommé with a holly-branch of natural color.
Granted 19 December 1931 by Royal Resolution

Hulsberg can be read as "hulst" = holly + "berg" = mountain, both present on the arms, and (in a way) on the flag.
The lion is the lion of Valkenburg, because Hulsberg used to be in the jurisdiction of the court of aldermen of Valkenburg.
Hulsberg has some regional fame because "the TV-transmittor of Hulsberg is out of the air." best translated in Mexican: "momentito".

Merkelbeek

Merkelbeek municipality image by Valentin Poposki, 9 December 2023

From https://www.mastenenvlaggen.nl/product/dorpsvlag-merkelbeek:

Merkelbeek was an independent municipality until 1982, but did not yet fly a flag. Nowadays Merkelbeek is part of the municipality of Beekdaelen.

The Merkelbeek flag consists of four panels in the colors red, yellow and white. All these colors are taken from the corresponding village coat of arms. The upper red and yellow area contains the village name as Limburgers pronounce it. The Merkelbeek coat of arms is included in the white area at the lower hoist. This includes a snake's head cross containing three red disks. The pattern of semi-transparent circles in the flag design may have been derived from this. The local patron saint Pope Clement is depicted on the right of the coat of arms.

Schimmert

Schimmert municipality image located by Valentin Poposki, 9 December 2023

From https://www.mastenenvlaggen.nl/product/dorpsvlag-schimmert:

The Schimmert flag is the presumed village flag of the Limburg village of Schimmert (or Sjömmert). The flag has been in use in its current form since 2023 and is intended to be displayed during various festivities in the village.

The Schimmert flag consists of three horizontal stripes in white, blue and yellow. These colors are traced back to the provincial flag of Limburg. At the bottom of the flag, in the yellow stripe, is a white line which merges into the contours of the local church (Sint-Remigius Church) and probably the water tower of Schimmert. Below you can see the village name in Limburgish: Sjömmert. The Schimmert village coat of arms is placed on the hoist side of the flag. This consists of a combination of the coat of arms of Valkenburg (left part) and the coat of arms of Meerssen (right part). In the middle of the coat of arms you can also see a small shield in red. This features the patron saint of the village: Saint Remigius.
