Shield Or on a fess wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, in chief a heraldic rose Gules of seven petals seeded Or and barbed Vert, in base a pine resin pot Gules dribbling Argent. Vilela do Tâmega was one of the 30 communes of Chaves Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 353 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 9,61 km².
