Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, issuant from base a throughout bridge Sable masoned Argent and having two arches, above an impending tower Sable masoned Argent with port and windows Gules, flanked by two different easy chairs Sable cushioned Gules. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "LORDELO - PAREDES". ""
Meaning:
The chairs are probably alluding to the local production of furniture.

It was a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and green.

Former Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a large tree Proper fruited Or, its roots are surrounding a beige inescutcheon in base, charged with a cross, the tree's stem is flanked by a millwheel Argent surrounded by blue creeks at dexter, and by a batch of shelves Or at sinister, in orle four bay leaves Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals
Meaning:
The "proeminent" tree and the shelves are representing the local production of furniture. The millwheel and the creeks are alluding to the existence of watermills and the production of flour in the past. The shield probably belonged to a local manor-house from the 17th century. The bay leaves are symbolizing the existence of many local laurel trees.

It was a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and green. The coat of arms was the same as on town flag above, but having a mural crown with five visible towers (city rank) and inscription in scroll "CIDADE DE LORDELO".

Town (?) symbols published in Diário da República: I (?) Série on 28 June 1984. Lordelo was upgraded to a city in 2003, the process was completed on 26 August 2003 (it is not explicitly mentioned whether that was the date of publishing of the new symbols in Diário da República:).
