The arms are Vert a sun Or and a cogwheel Argent and an oak twig Or and an corn cob Or fruited Gules all set in cross. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ABRAVESES".

Abraveses is one of the 18 communes of Viseu Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 8350 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 11,95 km².
