The flag is a banner of the arms; arms dating from 1468, formally granted on 10 May 1946.

The Flag

This is the flag of Helsingborgs kommun, a square banner of the arms, showing a two story roofed castle, with a tower and behind a wall, all in red bricks, lined black on a white background. This flag is quite common in public places in Helsingborg, especially near the the city hall, Rodhus (red house -- but doesn't look like the one on the flag...) (means "city hall" -J.O. Engene).

A variation of the flag, probably incorrect

This is a variation of this flag I spotted once, dark orange instead of red and with no black lining. I suppose it was a printing error, as someone forgot to add the black in when printing the flag -- our flag producers please advise. Error or not here this was, flying high in a pole near the Oceanhavn, at least five days in a row...

Flags of H55

[Flag of Exhibition] (A) by António Martins
[Flag of Exhibition] (B) by António Martins

Also in the harbour, but near the peer where small ferries go to Denmark, was a permanent display of maybe 5x5 flagpoles some 6 m high in a tight square, all flying one of two versions of this Helsingborg unofficial flags. My host told me that they were from a traditional arts exhibition held in 1955, FolkArt H55, and stayed there since (I'm quite sure that the flags themselves were substitued many times ). It's a 2:1 flag, showing a large "H" extended till the borders of the flag, either red on white (A) or orange on yellow (B).

H55 was an architecture, industrial design and furniture exhibition.

Luggude

[Flag of Luggude]

In Helsingborg (which as opposed to Hästholmen, still is a biggish city, county of Skåne/Scania), the square in front of the city hall sported no less than five flags: those of Sweden, the city itself, the EU, Scania, that of the Nordic coutries, and finally that of Luggude. This is somewhat remarkable since regional flags are relatively rare in Sweden, in particular in public places and on public buildings, but the flags in question are all already represented on FOTW, with the exception of the last one.
Luggude is an "härad", a former administrative division which I believe in Britain (and for some reason also in Delaware) is known as a "hundred". It has no administrative function whatsoever these days, but apparently, the local authorities found it suitable to manifest this geographical belonging as well.
Wikipedia has a picture of the Luggude coat of arms, but its use on a flag is apparently recent.
This time I did have a camera, so if you want me to, I can send a photo of these flags, it’s just that I don’t have one beside me right now. But pictures can be seen in this article from the local newspaper. (it mentions that the flag is indeed recent).
