Town of Novyi Svit is part of the City of Sudak, in Crimea
Autonomous Republic, Ukraine. It has a population of 1,093 (in
2001). Its flag was adopted by the Town Council at 20.03.2006.
Authors are Maskevich O.I. and Konovalov V.I.
The flag is shown on the pages of Sevastopol's Heradic Society
"Gerakleya".

"With modern name, Novyi Svit is known since 1864. The flag
was confirmed in March, 20th, 2006. Rectangular panel with ratio
2:3 is divided by three horizontal strips - red, white and wavy
blue - in the ratio 1:2:1. On the blue strip goes white tiny wavy
strip. In the central strip is settlement arms."

"It was confirmed in March, 20th, 2006. Gules; argent house
as a four-tower fortress in the Genoa style, above which is
antique wine amphora with the gules plaited letters
"Н" and "С". On each side amphora is
decorated by two or grape branches with one or bunch of grapes.
In the azure base are two argent abaised wavy barrulets.
Novyi Svit has got the world popularity by the L.Golitsyn, famous
winemaker and researcher, talented organizer who has created the
first domestic champagne awarded with the maximum award
"Grand Prix" at the World exhibition in Paris in 1899.
About 40 years he has lived in Novyi Svit. In the arms project is
building, constructed by him. Initial letters on the amphora mean
the settlement name. The argent barrulets mean the Black
sea."
