The county was formed in 1841 from parts of Burke County and Wilkes County. 16.12.2002
Mr. Hill reported that a survey was conducted through the Caldwell County Today television program, the County's website, and the News-Topic to choose one of three flag designs voted on during a previous Commissioners' meeting. As a result of this survey, a total of 13,264 votes were cast. The winning design had a total of 4,644 votes with the others receiving
