This "flag" is a single-purpose banner designed by the county for the bicentennial anniversary of Tennessee statehood in 1996. It was used for this one purpose only, and the only example exists in the collections of the Tennessee State Museum.

The seal consists of an artistic scene of various objects representing various things about the county. The scene shows the sun rising over a set of hills with a creek flowing in the valley. On the east bank is a crop field, with some trees next to it, along with the Donoho Hotel in Red Boiling Springs and a water pump. On the west bank is a church top a hill with cows grazing on the bank. A set of corn, tobacco, tomatoes, and wheat, connected to a path leading towards a trio of mainstreet stores and a factory. The Church Street Covered Bridge connects to two banks between the creek. At the bottom is the Payne Sundial, located in the southwest corner of Macon, just outside the Trousdale County line.
