Overview

As often as "застава / zastava" we use words "барјак / barjak" and "стег / steg".

[Apart from "стег / steg",] two more Serbian variants for English "standard":

Стандарта / standarta: Used at least at the official govermental site to describe the presidential standard and the standard of the chairman of the parliament.
Штандарта / štandarta: Used in other cases, but for now I cannot recall wich.

Maybe, "steg / stijeg" is more poetical than "standarta", which is more “official” word, but I think that there is enough material to call those two — synonyms.
