Kleinaitingen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules an orb Or.
Meaning:
The orb in a shield was first displayed in a local seal from 1800. Bishop Clemens Wenzelslaus of Augsburg (1739 - 1812) invited all municipalities alongside the Hochstraße (English: Highway), to mark their properties, among those boundary stones and boundary-posts, fences and public equipment, by local symbols. Kleinaitingen and the neighbouring Großaitingen chose as their symbols the orb from the arms of Schwabmünchen. The heraldic authority suggested a different pattern as follows: in a blue shield a chevron parted (per pale) of Or and Argent and a golden orb under the chevron. The Minister of Interior ordered however, to use the old symbol without changes. A seal from 1903 displayed a white orb in a blue shield in Petra Sancta code. The current tinctures are alluding to the Bishopric of Augsburg.
