Birkenfeld Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, on top of a mount Vert issuant from base an eradicated weeping birch Sable with leaves Vert, the trunk superimposed by a big inescutcheon chequered of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
In 1332 Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian granted city rights. Nevertheless Birkenfeld was considered to be a simple municipality until the 20th century. The status of a city was regained between 1923 and 1933 and finally confirmed in 1949. Between 1817 and 1937 it belonged to the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg. The arms are based on a local court seal from 1577. The birch (German: Birke) is canting. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Farther County of Sponheim, to which the village belonged from the 13th century until 1437, when the counts died out.

Brücken Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend sinister; above right chequered of Gules and Argent; beneath left Sable a lion rampant issuant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules, chief invected Or.
Meaning:
The invected chief is representing the bridge, which connects Brücken proper with Traunen and is thus canting. The chequered field displays the arms of the Farther County of Sponheim, to which the former historically belonged. The lion issuant is a differentiation of the arms of the Duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, to which the latter historically belonged.

Dambach Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a pallet Sable, at dexter Argent a watermill wheel Sable above and a bend sinister wavy Azure below, at sinister Or two bars Gules and seven squares of the same ordered 3:2:1:1 with two of them couped per pale.
Meaning:
The millwheel is reminding on the Brandmühle, a former watermill on the banks of the name giving creek. The blue wavy line is canting representing the creek itself. The sinister half displays the sinister half of the family arms of the Hunold kin, which had 12 squares ordered 5:4:2:1.

Hoppstädten-Weiersbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Sable a demi-lion issuant Or, crowned ,armed and tongued Gules; below Argent parted by a pale wavy Azure, at dexter a broken wheel Gules superimposed by a sword Sable hilted Gules in pale, at sinister a ruined building Gules with port and windows Sable.
Meaning:
The upper half is a differentiation of the arms of the Duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, to which the area historically belonged. Wheel and sword are attributes of St. Catherine, local patron saint of Hoppstädten. The ruin is representing the former Werdenstein Castle, which had been located in Weiersbach. The pale wavy is a representation of the Nahe River.
