It is a red-white-red vertical triband with ratio of stripes approx. 1:3:1. The coat of arms is shifted to the top within the central stripe.

Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a lion rampant double queued Gules, armed and tongued Azure.
Meaning:
Reinheim gained city rights around 1300 and was a loan of the Counts of Katzelelnbogen until 1479. All seals and images of the arms since 1605 (Siebmacher) display the arms with the tinctures of the Counts of Katzenelnbogen. Since 1621 (Wessel) all armourials displayed the same pattern. Only in the 19th century a second tail was added to the lion, otherwise the arms have not changed.
In the 1956 different arms had been proposed by Möller, in which the arms were divided with in the lower field a silver bar in a blue field. This was added to distinguish the arms from those of Katzenelnbogen. The local council however, opted for the historical arms, with the lion only .
