Blindheim Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend of Argent and Sable, charged with an aquarius proper, crowned bearded and double queued Or, holding a halberd Gules in bend by his dexter hand and a barrel in bend sinister of the same pouring water Argent by his sinister hand, chief Gules parted by a centred cross Argent.
Meaning:
Blidheim was established in 1978 by a merger of Blindheim proper, Unterglauheim and Wolpertstetten. The aquarius is taken from 1967 version of the municipal arms of Unterglauheim and is referring to the local water well fields. The halberd is taken from the arms of Knight Heinrich of Schlaitdorf, who sold chapel and his possessions in Wolpertstetten to the Cistercian Kaisheim Imperial Abbey in 1215. The partition per bend of silver and black is taken from the arms of the Knights of Blindheim, whose existence in the village is proven between 1256 and 1471. The chief displays the arms of The Duchy of Savoie and is referring to Prince Eugène of Savoie-Carignan (1663 - 1736) and the battle of Höchstädt in 1704 during the Spanish War of Succession. The battle took place between Blindheim and Lutzingen. The prince and John Churchill Duke of Marlborough defeated the Bavarian and French troops.
