Dillingen upon Donau County Banner

It is a yellow-blue-yellow vertical triband with arms shifted to top.

Dillingen upon Donau County Coat of Arms

Shield twice parted per fess; above Azure a lion passant Or; in centre Or a lion rampant guardant Sable, armed and tongued Gules; beneazh Azure a fleur-de-lis Or.
Meaning:
The new arms show the yellow lion from the arms of the Counts of Dillingen from the old arms, combined with the black lion, taken from the arms of the former Wertingen County and based on the arms of the Staufen kin, since 1069 being Dukes of Swabia and later Kings of Germany. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, the patron saint of the Bishopric of Augsburg, taken from the arms of the city of Dillingen.

Old Dillingen upon Donau County Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a bend Or, above left Azure a lion passant Or in bend, beneath lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The lion and the bend are taken from the arms of the former Counts of Dillingen, who used arms with a lion on both sides of the bar. The lower part shows the arms of the Wittelsbach kin and is symbolising that a large part of the district historically belonged to the Pfalz and later to Bayern.

It was a black-yellow-blue vertical tricolour with arms shifted to top.

Wertingen County Coat of Arms

Shield twice parted per fess; above Or a lion rampant guardant Sable, armed and tongued Gules; in centre lozengy of Argent and Azure; beneath parted per pale of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
The upper part shows the arms of the Staufen kin, since 1069 being Dukes of Swabia and later Kings of Germany, the oldest known rulers in the county, which ruled the whole county until 1268. The lozenges in the middle are the arms of their successors from the Wittelsbach kin, Dukes and later Kings of Bayern. The lower part shows the arms of the Bishopric of Augsburg, as the bishopric also had several possessions in the county.
