Schönwalde-Glien Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or an ash twig Vert with seven leaves, at sinister Azure two swans Argent in bend sinister.
Meaning:
The arms are partially based on the municipal seal of Schönwalde from 1946, probably inspired by the county arms of Osthavelland County from 1935. Both displayed the pair of swans. The swans thus are symbolising the local tradition. The blue colour is alluding to the local swamps, the Havelländer Luch. The yellow colour is symbolising the soil in the Glien region, which consists of clay. (Elbslavian: Glien). The number of ash leaves is symbolising the seven villages of the municipality. Trees, especially ashes, are very common in the local bog forests. Ashes furthermore are very popular and planted on local alleyways. The leaf is also considered to be canting for Schönwalde (= beautiful grove).
