Lüdersdorf Municipality

The municipality of Lüdersdorf , located on the border with Schleswig-Holstein (and therefore on the former border between West- and East Germany, on the Eastern side) is the biggest municipality of Nordwestmecklenburg County.

It is a red-yellow-red horizontal triband with centred arms exceeding the yellow stripe and ratio of stripes 1:2:1.

Lüdersdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a pale wavy Argent, at dexter Gules a cross Argent surmounted by a coronet Or, at sinister Azure nine flowers or, 3:3:3 surmounting a cogwheel of the same.
Meaning:
The wavy pale represents river Wakenitz, which forms the western border of the municipality, here the border between Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein. The cross and coronet recall that the villages forming Lüdersdorf once belonged to the former Bishopric of Ratzeburg, which was transformed at the end of the Thirty Years' War into the westernmost principality of the Duchy of Mecklenburg.
The cogwheel represents the local industries, while the nine flowers stand for the nine villages forming Lüdersdorf.

It is a red over yellow over blue horizontal tricolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

Schönberg Coat of Arms

The shield is twice divided per fess into red, golden (= yellow) and blue. In a red inescutcheon is a silver (= white) Latin cross topped by a coronet in natural colour.
Meaning:
According to source the colours in the shield are those of Mecklenburg. The inescutcheon shows the arms of the Bishopric (later Principality) of Ratzeburg.

Selmsdorf Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side shows In a red field a silver (= white) Latin cross topped by a coronet in natural colour. The sinister side shows an upright, green ear of grain in a golden (= yellow) field.
Meaning:
According to source the grain is symbolising agriculture while the dexter side shows the arms of the Bishopric (later Principality) of Ratzeburg.
