Klütz Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, an owl statant on a pair of embowed linden branches Or with four leaves each, in chief two linden branches Or in saltire with three leaves each.
Meaning:
In 1943 arms were approved, displaying on a goldn shield a green eradicated oak. The shield was parted by an abased white fess charged with seven green oak leaves, above was in a golden field an owl couchant proper (i.e. brown), beneath in red field a black key in bend. These arms didn't match heraldic rules. Furthermore they erroneously assumed, that the name of the municipality was derived from "key". In the current arms the owl is alluding to the nickname as owls' eyrie, due to the many owls around the city. The branches are symbolising the alleyways flanked by lindens in the park of Bothmer Estate.
