Dorf Mecklenburg Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess; above Gules, on top of a wall Argent a castle Argent with three towers with cone roofs, beneath Or a bull's head caboshed Sable, crowned Or, armed Argent and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The village, 6 km south of Wismar is the cradle of Mecklenburg and seat of a castle of the Obotrites tribe. It is first mentioned in 995 by Emperor Otto III as Michelenburg (= Michael's castle). It became seat of a Bishopric in the 12th century. But the castle was burnt down in 1160 and the seat of the bishopric moved to Schwerin. The castle had been rebuilt until 1176 and was main seat of Prince Pribislaw. His family was since then named by its seat, which was however transformed to nearby Wismar in 1256. Since then the castle declined and near the castle a fairly unimportant village developed. Mecklenburg was among those villages, which were pawned to the Electorate of Hannover from 1734 until 1766. The arms display the arms of Mecklenburg beneath and the upper half is referring to the old castle.

Metelsdorf Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side shows a half red wheel with 5 spokes in a silver (= white) field. The sinister side shows four silver (=white) drops ordered 1:2:1 in a blue field.
Meaning:
According to source the wheel is taken from the arms of von Stralendorf kin, having been former rulers for a while. The sinister side is symbolising a local fountain, which supplied nearby Wismar with drinking water. The number of drops is symbolising the former municipalities of Klüssendorf, Martensdorf, Metelsdorf and Schulenbrook.
