Dunningen Municipal Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per bend into silver (= white) over red. Two heraldic roses with petals in counterchanged colours, both barbed green and seeded golden (= yellow), both at the end of a stemlet issuant in counterchanged colours, are in each field.
Meaning:
The arms are based on the arms of the family Maier of Tuningen, although later it was shown that the family had no relation with the village Dunningen, but only with Tuningen. The colours were taken from the previous arms and used since 1937. These arms showed in red a silver plough share. As this is a very common symbol in the municipal heraldry of Baden-Württemberg, it was decided to design new arms in 1951.

The banner was approved on 1 April 1952 by minister of state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern. The coat of arms was approved on 4 March 1952 by Minister of Interior of Württemberg-Hohenzollern.
